HTDSTUDIO WINS GRIFFINTOWN HORSEPALACE COMPETITION
Montreal, December 18th, 2010 – HTDSTUDIO DESIGNOFFICE won a competition to build a temporary gallery space in the Griffintown section of Old Montreal, Canada. The Griffintown Interrupted Ideas Competition took five strategic vacant sites in hopes to create a series of temporary interventions to raise awareness of the history of Griffintown, Montreal, while creating cultural, community and public activity to rejuvenate the faded industrial area.
Each proposal was to include a plan for its own disassembly, de-habitation or disappearance at the end of its short-term lease. Each submission determined the conditions of the structure’s use for the duration of the provided lease.
